She loved it & I love that she loved it! It's sure to become one of our family favourites in our family recipe book.

Recipe

2 Wheat Biscuits (Wheatbix, Vita-Brits etc.)
1 Banana
1 Sml Handfull of Sultanas or mixed dried fruit
1/2 Cup Milk

Break up the wheat biscuits and add milk, you can heat the milk in before adding if you like a warm breakfast cereal. Slice the banana onto the cereal and add dried fruit and mix to combine.

Enjoy!! For adults try adding some chopped nuts, seeds, coconut. Use your imagination - think like a toddler!!

Note: This is a metric cup recipe

Should I Circumcise My Baby

Thank goodness I have two daughters because the circumcision debate in our house would have caused a divorce!! My husband is a staunch circumcision advocate where as I would prefer to let nature be and not have this procedure performed on my hypothetical baby boy.

Last night my husband was watching the Sunday Night program on Australias channel 7 (while I was washing up) when yelled out "SEE!". Which in woman talk means "Honey, come here, my point of view's just been vindicated, let me show you!".

Aparrently there's new research proving a link between the reversal in trends against circumcision over the last 10 or 15 years and a rise in sexually transmitted disease occurences.

I also saw a segment this morning on 7s Sunrise where a well known physician reccomended that even in light of this new research, circumcision still amounts to mutilation and is potentially dangerous to the lives of baby boys. He correctly pointed out that this new reaserch is irrellevant as we should be educating our children on safe sex and there are new medical advances being made to combat and immunise against disease every day.

So far as I can see, the circumcision debate is still raging in medical circles and families should take in all the pros & cons if considering circumcision for thier boys. In the end, it's a personal decision which no-one can make for you.

Have you suffered an ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage?

If you, or someone you know has lost a pregnancy due to ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage you may have feelings of sadness and anger. I've found a sure fire favourite which provides ingredients from each of the food groups that toddlers actually LOVE!! Try your little one on this Zucchini Slice recipe.

400g Zucchini - grated (or try 400g carrot or half & half)
1 Large Onion - finely chopped
4 Rashers of Bacon - finely chopped
1 cup Self Raising Flour
5 Eggs - lightly beaten
1/2 cup Melted Butter or Cooking Oil
1 cup Tasty Cheese - grated
Salt & Pepper

Preheat oven to 180 deg C. Place all ingredients together into a large bowl and mix well to combine (I find using my hands the best method). Grease and flour a suitable slice tin. Press the mixture into the tin and place in the oven for 15 to 20 min until brown on top. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before turning out and cutting into portions. Allow to cool completely on a cake rack . This recipe is suitable for freezing.

Advice On Your New Baby

When our little bundle of joy first arrived, even though we were mature, intelligent, rational adults, we were completely lost. As a matter of fact, an hour after we'd arrived home, we'd made sure little missy was fed, burped and snugly tucked up in her bed, we were on the phone to a friend with two daughters of his own asking "what do we do now??" His advice was probably the most useful we received in those first few weeks and was simply, "relax and get some rest!".

"What do we do now?" is a question you feel like you're asking yourself every few hours!! Not just during those first scary weeks and months when everything is new, it goes on as your bub grows to a toddler, through childhood and into those dreaded teen years.

Sometimes you'll ask for advice, other times it'll be thrust upon you unwelcomed. You'll become an expert at choosing the gems of wisdom which you'll use and those that you'll file away (just in case). Every child (and every family) is different, what works for one mightn't work for another, you'll have a well adjusted baby when you're treating your child with love and respect and doing your best to ensure that they grow up healthy and happy.
